hehe ... anyway
before jumping at it and hooking your lcd upto the opus or whatever power supply you are using make sure you use an ammeter to check how much power is being drawn from the psu to the computer, then adding on the MAX DRAW (listed on the monitor specs) of the lcd to determine if the psu can handle the extra current. (remmber total power = W = Amps x Volts)

I decided to be cheap on the wire for my Xenarc. Instead of buying a new cable I just cut the cig adapater one. If I need the adapter again which I won't I will resplice it back together. Anyway
Ground on the wire is the outer strand and the positive is the white wire.
I have this hooked up to a OPUS POL

The M1-ATX 90W power supply works great with the Xenarc 700TSV. I have my Xenarc running directly off the 12V line from the PSU with no problems. There is no flickering and the picture is clean and stable.

Which wires do they go to on the molex? I got a red, 2 blacks and a yellow. I don't have a voltmeter.

Red = +5v
Black = Ground
Yellow = +12v
You don't need a voltmeter to determine that, just a simple trip to the search tool or Google.

Rodger.
Yellow and black. Now I just have to put a 6 foot piece of wire between them.

Nothing new here, just saying that powering the screen off a Molex or such is pretty sweet. I've got a p4 ready psu running a duron processor so I tapped into the 4wire p4 connector, now I've got auto on/off for the screen.

The pc would have to be on. You could just switch to the cigarette lighter power adaptor when needed. If the power plug on your lilli wont be accessible you could maybe wire a switch so you could alternate between the two - pc power or power from cigarette lighter.

I have mine on my pc power mostly so it turns on automatically when the pc boots. Its also a good steady current but you can run your screen off of the cig lighter just fine even during crank AFAIK. Surviving crank is a pc issue not a screen issue.

Another suggestion when powering your screen off the PC PSU like this is to use a relay to switch the power and use the ign/acc on the dash to activate the relay. Then your screen will be off as soon as you get out of the car and not stay on while the PC is shutting down and obviously attracting attention.
