I was gonna post this, i know alot of us use Via motherboard or even plain desktop mobo's, i using a via also had my P4 harness available which supplies two additional +12V supplies great for the monitor.

I kinda disagree with the real need for regulated 12V because:
- in my hami 8", the ccfl inverter gets 4 wires from the motherboard and not just gournd and +12V
- when engine is off and engine is on, no apparent change in brightness is perceptible on the screen; so I suppose the CCFL inverter does not provide a boosted voltage to the CCFL
Anyone could proove me wrong ?

I have the same adapter for my Lilliput and I was wondering, why did you cut the wire AFTER that little box instead of before?

That little box is some sort of line filter.
But now the Lilliput is receiving regulated clean power from the M2-ATX, so that box is not needed. Also I did that to save some space.

Just wanted to say thank you for the pictures. I am noob to building a car pc and I have been reading many many sections of these forums but your images with text description has made sense of it all. If you have more I would love to see them so I can get a better understanding. Thanks again!
