Unhappy Xenarc 800TSV sits there clicking! :(

Okay, here's the specs:
ASUS A7N8X/400 with Barton 2400+ (i think, or 2500+...cant remember)
Xenarc 800TSV
Opus 150
and the standard 120gb WD HD, 512 mem, CDRW drive, etc
Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005 GPS

Took a 6hr trip to Montreal and everything worked beautifully (GPS and MP3). I noticed a night prior, sometimes the onboard video just wasn't showing up. Computer booted fine, I can hear the sound through my AUX on my headunit going into XP. "Hmmm..." i thought. I put an old ATI video card into the AGP slot and it still wasn't showing video. Plugged the monitor back into the onboard, and after a couple minutes on staying in XP, it blinked on. Drove around, everything was cool. Today, I drove around and as RoadRunner was sitting there playing my music, the screen just blinked out (but the green light still stayed on, not blinking). Totally weird. I double-touched the screen to see if it was still active, and it went to the next song!!
Now the screen won't show video no matter how long I let it sit in XP. But, its getting the signal because with the computer off, the monitor just blinks the green light. As soon as I throw the switch, the light turns to green and stays on.
I can hear it "clicking" as it is trying to change video modes, but nothing still shows up on the screen.

Anyone have a clue??

Not sure to be honest, but you may want to try running it from AC to rule out the 12v power supply.

Fired it up this morning on my way out, and it worked just fine. Shut my car off with the computer still running (so only my screen shut off) came back a couple minutes later, turned the car on, and the screen was working perfectly. Shut my car off for a couple hours, and it's doin the same thing again: not showing any video!
Any possibilities im overlooking?

I'm assuming it doesn't always work right on the AC then?

that's correct. Im *thinking* it might be the Hz setting, because it picks up in XP at 800x600 at 60hz. Maybe i'll hook my CRT to it and see if i can change it to 70. I read in the Xenarc FAQ (i think) that sometimes computers don't really put out the accurate Hz it says. Other than that, I dunno what to think. If it was a Hz setting then why isn't it showing me the Post screen (which it will show in a different video mode when it boots) at least? *grumble*
