What can i do to stop my lilli from dimming?

My lilliput dims when the subs hit, just a little annoying! What can i do to correct this? Is there a capacitor i could add to it or would i need to add a farad cap to my subs to prevent it? Any other suggestions?

any of these...

1. turn the bass down
2. upgrade the electrical system
3. i assume you're using the egg to power the lilli....power it of the power supply

the problem lies within your car's electrical system. a farad cap will just put more strain on the alternator. so that might work, but you'll have to end up replacing the alternator anyways.

I've already upgraded the alternator and use a yellow top battery. I am using the egg and its connected to a distrib. block which runs an 0 gauge to the battery. Running it to the power supply would require running a car length power wire... at that small of a gauge wouldnt that reduce its efficiency?

as others are telling you, a few farads of cap is not a solution, the web is full of arguments about why not to bother, at best its a band aid for a poor electircal system, at worst its another load that you do not need.

As for wire gauge, you *could* get away with 20awg, since your lookinag at barely 1A along the line, however as you correctly note, you may suffer line loss over 15 feet (boot to console) with thin wires, 20AWG would lose about 0.4V over that distance, however using between 16 and 10AWG, that drops to just 0.1V across 15ft, and better than 10AWG the loss at 1A is negligible.
