Yeah the screen is upside down
well the problem is the layout of my power supply and everything thats why I had to take it upside down, but I will see what I can do tonight. i'll try to hook up a 2nd panel and show the diffrence
I have some images that I took of each screen, but i'm not that great with a camera and so it adjusts the light balance everytime I take a picture, thus each panel looks about the same brightness even though it's much brighter

well thats what i'm hoping, because with the 2.6 mm samples, I got some 4.1mm samples as well, which they dont fit the 7" so hopefully they will fit the 8"
I am going to contact armen from digitalww and see if he has any 8" panels yet.

anyway, would u guys consider putting these in cheaper panels, say the 250nit SP7?
I would be willing to put it into any panel that I can get, but it's hard to do if I dont actually have the panel.
is the SP7 a panasonic or hitachi panel?

Heehee, I thought I would get you all with that! I purposely left off any sarcastic smilies to get reactions. I kill me...

give him a break! he literally got the CCFLs yesterday and wacked em in to try! I am sure we will get lots of proper development shots when we start messing with the diffusers.
As for the cheaper screens....yeah it should work ok. I don't know if the cheaper screens have the same diffusers but they probably do. It does mean that people with old xenarcs can benefit from a nice upgrade. But don't forget you generally get what you buy so there may be other corners cut ont he cheaper screens.

Well I left a message with a company requesting info on some inveters that should be able to power our tubes. The inverters that we ordered with the tubes dont work very well at all.

Hey Jerry, how did the printing off all the primary colours go? what did you get?
Have you sent the specs to ERG or do you want me to do it? (i need the specs sending over). I have a contact there I will have to dig out.

i'll send the specs over to them, I have a local contact. I am just hoping they dont have to build us a custom inverter.

Jerry, if those CCFLs are not bright enough i just came up with a new design but I think the chinese would kill us and you really would have to do sexual favours for Amelia to get them made. I estimate we could add another 20% length! and eliminate the streaks. But something tells me we dont need it! Design is based ont he heated floor i put into my dads new bathroom and it's crazy!

If it's the same SP7 as the one I have (starvision) it's a panasonic screen rated @ 250 nits mine is completely worthless in direct light and even on cloudy days it's pretty bad.

hehe, 250nit with TS must be about 190nit - that is shocking.
One thing i would still like to work on is the anti glare (from now on known as AG as I dont want to write it out again).
Hopefully the brightness will overpower the glare to some degree but new overlays and possibly new diffusers would still help.
