A few days ago I installed new usb drivers to try to fix the hibernation issue (I can't..not even with devcon) and after a day or two my touch "puffed"...while trying to callibrate I kept getting the same eeprom error...PANIC...let's search mp3car.com...solution: send it back...needs new controller...PANIC...too expensive and too many days without carpc...Then my Portuguese brain decided to go for a very simple and almost always useful solution...RESET the screen...voilà, it works like a charm!!

I guess it's time to call MythBusters...another one has been solved...

Peoples: I mean it stopped working. I reseted it in the menu...but I guess you'll be able to do the same with the remote, not sure 'cause I've sold it and I'm now using a k-301

These instructions work for my model (8.4" touchscreen )

Press Menu key on front of Lilliput frame
Press the > key three times to select the Misc. Control
Press Meny key
Press the > key three times to select the reset
Press Meny key

This causes the screen to reset and it won't work until you reboot your system.

This fixed the error
"Access EEPROM fail!! Please check again."
when I first tried to calibrate it.

BTW, I've had this unit for about 20 minutes. Thanks to those who posted on this topic before - helped me get past first hurdle.

Also, my unit beeped every time I touched it (making me think that the PC was not happy). This appears to be the default setting for the touchkit. To turn sound off, open the touchkit configuration utility and uncheck "Touch Down" check box on the Settings tab.
