Guys, all that I know is that I have a GL701 and that when I kill off the ignition, the screen will close and go in the unit. When I connect the accessory on again, it does nothing unless I hit the power button. I would expect that once the ignition is connected the screen will pop out.

Oh well. just have to live with it I suppose.

You will need to change how that has been wired up....
The power cable for your screen should have positive and negative. Take the positive cable and wire this to the ACC cable of the car ( ignition on) and negative to ground.
This will now work with ur ignition switch and once the key is of the screen will be on standby.
Hope this helps...

Fama,
thanks for your input but no good. By doing what you suggested, once you kill the ignition, there is no power to bring the screen in and it remains vertical.

I even attempted killing the battery power after the screen has gone in and then powering both the battery and acc power simultaneously to no avail. I might have to do some soldering.

I tried it with the GL701. But the power modes don't seem to be working. It always does auto power on.

BlackStealth is on a distinguished road
2.5 years later I made another attempt at getting Auto Power on enabled on my 8" widescreen lilliput (model 889GL-80NP/C/T). I couldn't get into the factory menu at all until I removed the battery from remote control.

Step 1 - bootup carpc to provide VGA signal.
Step 2 - disconnect battery from remote control and plug back in.
Step 3 - disconnect power from back of monitor and plug back in.
Step 4 - power on monitor by pressing button on monitor (do not use power on button from remote).
Step 5 - wait 2 seconds and on remote press 588998 (approx 5 seconds to key those in)
Step 6 - wait for underscores and on remote press 1290210
Step 7 - on remote press 5 to exit
Step 8 - power off and you're all set

It took about 3 attempts before I got in.
