Thanx JJnit! I have read the last two pages and yours is the only one that worked on my screen. You rock!

Also note that when you disconnect power to both the screen and the remote, and then we reconnect power, we have to turn the screen on USING THE SCREEN BUTTON, not the button on the remote. If I used the button on the remote to turn it on, then enter the "588998", nothing happened. I tried different things this way for hours. Then I used the screen button to turn it on, and worked like a charm. Hope that tidbit helps someone out there...

What worked for me on my 129 is waiting for the button lights to go out... I don't have to reset the unit, don't have to pull the battery out of the remote, nothing just have to wait for the button lights to go out before I input the code.
Also mine defaulted to 129 0 1 0 0 and 129 0 0 0 0 was what made it auto on.

Works with 629GL-70NP
I got this mod to work with the Lilliput 7" VGA Touchscreen 629GL-70NP I bought in April 07 (manufactured 10/06) from the MP3Car store.
1. I unplugged the power where it connects to the Lilli
2. Plugged it back in and turned the power on with the button ON the Lilli
3. Entered the "588998" code at a normal button pushing pace on the remote & up popped the input screen.
4. Entered "0970110" on the remote control
5. Pressed the power button ON the Lilli
6. Waited a few seconds, then pressed it again
7. Unplugged the transformer, waited a few more seconds
8. Plugged transformer back in and it turned on! Auto-magically.
Too cool. Thanks all! Great thread and fix!

129 0 0 0 0 worked perfectly for my brand new 629GL-70NP (7 inch, lilliput, transreflective)
Cheers!

I just did this with my new 8" 889GL. By default it was 1270100 and would start up in power off mode when power was applied. Using 0970200 worked for me. It didn't save the settings at first, I just fiddled around with it few times and eventually it saved the setting and is now working great.

nice guide, much better then having to rip apart the screen and start soldering!
I have a "noname" screen but the circuit board looks identical to the 629 lilli one and when I enter 588998 I get the --- -- -- at once, I tried the code on the first page but that didn't do anything...
I've read though all the pages and it seems that there is a number of codes that might work but I'm just worried about trying them out... is it safe to just try the different numbers or can I screw up the screen in any way?

You can also turn on other video sources such as TV and turn off certain things as well. I hope this helps anyone that was stuck the same way I was.

Just to note that it worked on my new 889GL (8" widescreen bought at mp3car.com).

so it only auto powers on when it detects power?
Is there any way to get a lilliput to power on when it detects VGA signal instead? Like a PC monitor?
sorry if this is dumb question, I haven't gotten a lilliput yet.

In my lilliput, when there is no VGA signal you get a signal lost (dont recall the exact message) and in very few seconds it enters in standby.
When VGA signal reappears it wakes up.
Its like any other LCD PC monitor.
The autopower thing is for energy, when you plug the energy cable it will automatically turn on.

Be very careful of just having the screen in standby, if left like this it will drain your battery.

I see. I plan to attach it to the M2-ATX, so when CarPC hibernates screen is powered off.

Here's my issue I am having at the moment. Everytime I input the 588998 code, it just pops up a menu that says English or a bunch of other languages, no "--- - - - -". How do I pull up this menu? I even did a reset on the monitor and I am still not getting this.
