Lilliput Screen is blank!!!!!!!

I ordered my lilliput screen a few days ago (lilliput 7" touch screen 2005 model) and i recieved it ealier on 2day. Now I have tried to power the item up from several different cars cigerette socket as the the mains adaptor that came with the item is non-uk. The screen powers on fine but I cannot see a dam thing on it, if i look really hard and tilt it into the right light I can make out the menu, but plugging any VGA, Video into it is impossible. I managed after about 30 mins of playing to finaly get to the menu where you can change the contrast and brightness settings, I changed this settings and still the screen is near blank. Is there any ideas or do I need to send this item back with a big phat sign on it saying "Damaged Goods". Please help, thanks for any in advance, Lee

Try a bright flashlight. Keep it close to the screen. You probably should see the picture, including the vga and so on. If this is the case, the backlight of the screen, or its invertor, is dead.
