Think I just done my 2nd Lilliput Over!!!
This is my second lilliput which has gone bust!
I resoldered the circuit on the board to allow auto power on, and it worked fine for a bit but as soon as I started putting it all back together it died! and now won't start up. Its getting 12volts. Anyone got any suggestions???
Oh I did the same mod on the other one and it worked fine for ages, it was just with rough handling the LCD controller got busted and the display stopped working due it.
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP I was hoping to finish my install today!!!

I'm assuming you checked the fuse and tried it without the button control PCB attached?

I am actually powering using the mains device, still in my room yet and there is power coming from the mains. 12 Volts have used an voltmeter to check. and yes I have pulled off the (button) pcb from the board and tested. No joy

There is 12v across the fuse on the board next to the power supply

Ok I know there is power coming from the mains adapter, but did you check to make sure the fuse is still good on the controller
edit: ok

chech the ribbon cable in the main board, the connector is larger then the cable itself so if you misplace the ribbon the panel looks dead

Unless you have the older 9 pin connector
You can change it to auto on by punching a code from the remote, this will open up the factory settings, you put in another code to change it to auto on.
I will get the linky for you.. brb

jcdillin - I'm getting not getting the screen to light up with a white background. It does not power on at all.
Its the old lilliput so can't auto power it on using the codes unfortunately.
I have tried numerous times re-inserting the ribbon in but has not worked. I get no power at all on the actual control panel or the lcd.

It is probably my english, but when you say you have 12V "across" the fuse, doesn't this mean that your fuse has blown?
Normaly you would measure no voltage difference across the fuse, only between the fuse and ground.
If this is also what you meant then just forget about this message.

Hi Absolute!
Sorry thats my fault! I've measured across the fuse, and its reading a voltage drop of around 10volts. If it was fine it would should zero on the voltmeter obviously! My mistake!
So the fuse has gone, any one got any tips on what to do here. Shall I desolder the fuse off the other broken board and solder it on the new one?? or is some other way best?

I've just found
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...=lilliput+fuse
and
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...=lilliput+fuse
So i'm thinking of swapping the fuses over. I'm just going to get some food as my flat mate just set the kitchen alight. Then when I get back i'm gonna go ahead and swap the fuses over.
I have just checked the modifications I did to get the auto start working, I had soldered to the wrong side of one the fuses on the board. you think this may have caused it to blow the fuse??

i added an external fuse to a xenarc board and it worked ok. the xenarc fuse is 3A quick blow pico so i used a 2.5A (closest i could find) quick blow regular style fuse. I then cut the fuse part of the fuse out leaving the legs in to allow me to solder wires the bezel mount fuse holder which could be mounted somewhere discretely.
