I wouldnt even know where to start to get a new panel like that, did you guys make/manufacture that yourselves, as it looks great?
If I wanted to keep the head unit etc as it is in the pics and not have the screen in view at all times, where could i put it? Could I have it folded down in the passenger area somewhere, or in/below the glovebox, or ???????
I could always just leave the screen loose and make a good tether that contained all the cables and a strong wire and hide it in the glovebox and take it in/out when I needed it.
Any other ideas????
Oh, about spelling, have a look at this...

That has some spelling faults, even with the letters garbled.

The only way I see it is the way Enforcer posted in that pic. But you could make it much nicer, recees the screen and mount a slot in above the screen, and it will look awesome.
As I see it, get yourself one of those after market stereo din, remove the vents panel, and remove the vents so you have only the panel from the vents. Then glue this panel to the stereo panel, reinforcing it on the sides with either a small metal braket, or wood trim. Then, check out Altimats sticky in the fabrication forum, and you're set. It's the only way to make it look great. And try adding a couple of buttons on the 2 glued panels, as you'll have a pretty big single panel, and with some buttons it will look great!

shut up Cris. this thread has gone OT so lets keep it that way
hehe j/k
best thing to do is take your dash apart and have a ruler and digital camera handy. Take as many pics and measurments as you can. trace any wires to see where bits can easily be relocated too and follow and vent cables. Put the camera in the dash on makro mode and take pics from inside or even video.

I can't take the credit for it. I just clicked on the thumbnail markbuts3 posted and linked to the larger image.

It seems nissan in general didn't leave much room for touchscreens on the dash. In my skyline the only way would be to lose the centre air vents and relocate the Haz and demist buttons. Read: lots of work
So I wimped out and now I figure I will just fit the screen into the sun visor. Advantage is that the car pc will be totally invisible when it is flipped up and it is nice an close to your normal driving line of sight when using. It should also be a fair bit easier to install

I've opted for an indash for the time being on my Primera P10, I'd have to lose my vents and relocate some switches for a fabricated install...
The heater controls are cable operated and moving them into the lower area would probably be a major PITA, but if I could then there would be a decent size area for a screen....a little low down for my tastes though.

Thanks guys for all the ideas. I would love to be able to put the screen into the dash as it looks so good.
I was looking around the Internet yesterday and started looking at the in-dash fold-away/motorised screens (thanks for the idea markbuts3). I will rip my dash apart some day and have a look at mounting that somewhere as I was hoping to keep the HU there and keep the screen somewhat out of sight until I needed it.
If anyone has any other guidance/suggestions, bring it on, and thanks to everyone once again.
