Well, I was in Phily this weekend, and there was a tweeter there being closed down, everything is 30% off, some have additional discounts... there car audio selection was limited to whatever was left, few nice items, 1 panasonic (I did not get model number, but I got some specs) in dash dvd/cd reciever with a touch screen and what I am assuming is a external DSP/EQ package for $700, and then there was a panasonic reciever only (same model) for $500, originally marked as $1599... I am kicking myself for not buying it... however.. I keep telling myself... mortgage first then toys
It was there as of Sat, these are open box display models, I assume still have factory warrenty, its the 1 on the Boulavard (spelling?? its route 1) near a toys are us, lowes or home depot, balis, and a champs (I think, I dont live in the area, was visiting sister), however, they have a number of nice head units left that would make great inputs for a carputer (I am planing on a mac mini once I have money)
Not sure of the inputs though, I am trying to build my system with as little modification to the dash as possible.
Car stereo markup is just plain insane and I am amazed people actually pay retail.
