cant see my lilliput in daylight :(
I've just got my project into my car FINALLY and the 7" lilliput is totally unreadable during the day.
Is there anything I can do to this screen, if not, are the xenarcs much better? I've been sat behind people in traffic and watched movies from the screens in the rear of thier headrests so I find it hard to believe there isnt a VGA screen which will let me read it from 2 foot away.
Preferably i'd like to have it in dash, is the Xenarc 7" in dash up to the job, as its a lot of money to spend to find out its just the same.

not a lot of difference between the two......tinting the windows helps.....mounting it in such a way to avoid dirrect sunlight might be an option for you......there are threads discussing modifing these screens with extra ccfl's for extra brightness...but that's not an easy solution......trust me, your not the first to complain.....

I dont think the problem is that they are too dim but simply that they are too shiny with the touchscreen.
I sprayed some uv coating stuff I found at work on mine and that helps a lot but rubs off with all the touching the screen gets. Its foreign so I'm not exactly sure what it is but I need to find out before it runs out :P

I find my 700IDT to be quite good in the day, I've not tried on a VERY sunny day but it was quite sunny the other day and it was OK...

how ur lilli is powered plays a role in its brightness. I tried hooking it up to the PSU and it was HORRIBLE. Having it egged fused and powered directly to the battery makes a huge difference.

which is strange because my egg puts out the same voltage as my PSU, I see no difference between the egg and PSU
must be some are more powerful than others

My egg lets just over 13v thru but my psu sits just above 12. But the difference in terms of output is huge

You're PSU may not have the amperage available that your egg does.

the egg makes it to 2 amps before it starts to complain, my PSU can handle well above that. But my egg only puts out 12.5 volts. The only way I was able to get the backlight to be brighter on my lilliput was to bypass the regulator circuit for the inverter and power it directly. Which the backlight became awesome in brightness, but the inverter blew within a few hours. Not to mention it went up to a 1.8amp total draw for the screen

sounds typical of lilliput to be honest! Xenarc would never have inconsistancies like that!
(Jerry is the lilliput guy i am the Xenarc guy )

honestly the only thing i've found by removing the touch panel, is you remove some of the glare, it really doesnt make it that much brighter
