i can't see how it possibly could catch fire unless they did something to the screen

mine is perfectly fine

they probably fubared their wiring

Mine is arriving in like 20 minutes I'm really excited! I'll post some pictures when it gets here and I get it out of the box.

Finally got it...

Also so it arrived! Quicker than I expected and, as others have said, did not have to pay any duty or customs fees! (I live in Toronto, Canada) I have some pictures of the box and the monitor below. It came with
Monitor
Drivers CD
Cigarette lighter adapter
VGA/USB hook-up for PC's
Adapter for s-video/rca
Remote
Headphones
Stand

Seems great so far though I am having a few problems that hopefully the others who have bought this can help me with.

1) The computer display WAS working great but started flickering alot. Now it works but eventually fades out and becomes white. Is this a problem with something on the inside? Hopefully I can get help
2) I hooked up a portable DVD player to the RCA cables. When it is just the red/white cables hooked up (the audio) the audio is fine but obviously there is no image. When I plug in the yellow rca jack the sound is muffled or is replaced with a loud buzzing. Any suggestions?

Other than that, assuming that I can get these fixed, seems like a great purchase!

I ripped it open before I took the picture, so that tear is from me, not shipping

The white screen is from the ribbon cable being loose, easy to fix but you have to take it apart (or is it already?)

As far as the sound? No idea unless its some kind of interference...

Super Monitor is Super

Ordered a 719 SUPER VGA from yugi on Monday and received it this morning. No customs fees.

The unit works exactly as I had hoped. The resolution at 1024x768 is limited. You can still read 12 point type at that resolution but it is not crisp.
Resolution at 800x 600 is very nice.

Does anyone know what the native resolution on this monitor is?

The actual screen is about 6.1" x 3.65"

Haven't tried the audio. Guess that I didn't realize that it had a speaker.
Also interesting that it accepts composite, s-video and rgb.

The interface plug looks like it will cause some problems with integration.
Will probably need to remove the case to get a lower connector profile.

Not bad for $175! Never thought that I would see it in 3 days.

I got my packages from mp3car.com and installed XP media center on it. Screen and everything works just fine. until a letter from UPS came today a tax of 900 SEK
about 115 dollar :/ from the "****ment" of mp3.com Damn!
So it just remind me what a bargain the screen is Thx DHL :P

Gonna install the setup in the car now in the weekend. really exided
Trying to wire the screen from the M1-Atx power supple 12V rail.
Connecting it directly to the batteri isnt a good idea. very jumpy 12v
And the screen is very sensitive about right voltage. a few volt below and it wont start :/ and then the M1 feeds the Carputer without any problems at all.

how will you protect the screen? The little poker that the super screen comes with looks like it would damage the screen almost the first time you used it? Or, do you just use your finger?

The egalax driver tip someone else posted was essential. The touchscreen didn't work until I used the newer egalax touchkit drivers.

I am a newbie and have a few questions about this 7" Super, just got mine today, beautiful screen, finaly got the right ts drivers had to use Xenarc to work on my Compaq Tc1000 Tablet. Is anybody else have problems with the screen It works perfect at 640x480, but anything higher it flickers or vibrates at a very high rate, not sure if this is the same flicker problem as above. Haven't taken anything fully apart yet to check ribbons is it the white one or the gold one? White one looked good, but can't see gold ribbon ends I imagine i have to take the other boards of the case to see the connectors? One thing that may be contributing to the problem is a static noise coming from the top left corner of the monitor. Anybody else get static noise from top left corner of monitor?

Edit: Just took it all apart and reseated the white ribbon at the brown connector, didin't fix video at 800x600 still vibrates lines and text is not clear. Noticed another thing can't get touchscreen to calibrate for anything over 640x480, is this normal or do I have a driver progblem still, ran out of drivers to try though. Is anyone getting over 70hz refresh rate?

I think there is some truth to the guy that said his screen caught fire, that noise on my screen is from the foam that sits on the speaker and has the clear plastic guard stuck to it is making contact with the rectangular transformer(copper wires all wrapped around it on the circuit board) It has yellow plastic to protect it but the bottom edge contacts the black foam and causes sparks!!! When I took it apart and touched the bottom edge of my transformer when powered up it gave tiny sparks and burnt my finger, I would urge everyone to check to see if the black foam is touching the transformer. This could definitely cause a fire!!!

Do not pull the black foam off your speaker, cut it if it touches the transformer it is very sticky and will rip the speaker, trust me I know. Anybody know what that yellow plastic tape on the transformer is called need to put some more on?

ok, so you might not wanna open your "Super" screen.

I noticed the flicker to on the res 800*600 and 1024 but in 640*480 it works very well.
Gonna install my screen today. with a removable option hehe

resolution

If you install a 640x 480 driver in your computer, do you wind up with an 848x480 display since this is a widescreen display? The only 16:9 display that they say that they cover is 720x400.

Without using powerstrip, how do I get to 848x480 with an epia M10000 system and this new monitor?
