Best display?
Hi. I'm new to the forums and I'm planning on building a carputer of my own
Anyway, I was wondering what the best screen to buy is? I'd like to get a 7" touch screen display, with both vga and rca inputs. The xenarc tsv is my top choice right now. Are there any downsides to this screen?
I've read that it can auto switch to av2, that seems like a good feature. But I've also read that some screens, but not the xenarc, have customizable buttons. Is the lack of buttons a big drawback? Is the combined cable on the xenarc an advantage or disadvantage?
Finally, I've read that the xenarc can cause issues with the carputer's usb because the power is cut to the display before the carputer. Is there a way to avoid this problem without cutting up the supplied cabling?
Thanks very much for the advice,
--St. Claire

Downsides to Xenarc: price
And for some computers the USB power thing.

7" Xenarc if you have a high budget, 7" Lilliput if you have a low budget. Simply the two best.
On most computers I don't think the USB thing really matters, does it?

Thanks. It sounds like Xenarc is the way to go. My budget is small, but I'm willing to pay for quality. Does anyone happen to know the exact dimensions of it?
Thanks again,

In my humble opinion, the LQ9D161 is a great way to go on a budget. My windows are tinted pitch black, and while I wish the screen was a little less reflective, it hasn't been a major complaint.

If I may hijack the thread for just a second, I have a similar question that will save a new thread if it is answered here (and yes I've already searched).
I am in the market to install a PC in my 350z, and I have read conflicting things about the lilliput and the xenarc displays. Some people have replaced the xenarc with a lilliput because they say it isn't as clear. Others say the lilliput is trash. What's the majority opinion? I read that gork "switched over to a lilliput from a GAIN (xenarc type) monitor to get more brightness and a remote control" in his BMW install. Then later he didn't seem to like the Lilliput as much.
What is the general consensus on this (cost not being a factor).

The old xenarcs were not the brightests and did not have a remote control.
The news ones are bright and have a remote control

So what model should I go with, then? Is the Xenarc 700TSV the recommended 7" widescreen touch model?
BTW, thanks for the help! I was about to buy a lilli before I posted this.
