Is there a way I could power a relay, that say turns on the LCD display, by the chirp on the PC speaker? What kind of voltage would I expect is going to the speaker, and would I need to get something else than an auto relay?

why would you want to do that?

and bear in mind, the PC speaker would be getting a modulated (audio frequency) signal, not a simple digital on/off signal so it would take some circuitry to do anything useful with it...

I use a similar thing.. O used the 12v line off of the PSU to power a relay to power the LCD, however I wanted more of a delay, the tview likes more to let the alternator stabilize, so now I use the amp turn-on from the m1-atx

but the 12v off the PSU seemed to work fine,

For exactly the reason the next guy says, it powers on the TView with a delay. Its nice because it happens right after the POST and before resuming windows.

Why not get a voltmeter and check the voltage? That will tell you how much voltage you get, and wether it is possible, and what voltage relay youwil need.

I am not sure how that speaker works, although, I tend to think that it is not voltage controled like a car alarm speaker, but more of an "actual" speaker.

i think this is a good idea, i think my motherboard manual said the case speaker output is somthing like 5 or 8 volts
