I just bought this screen of of this site and have questions as to how I can power this directly from my battery, cig lighter, etc. If I cut the plug off after the egg, can I then connect directly to 12v and ground? If so, anyone know which wire is which?

Sorry for the noob questions, but I'd rather ask then fry the d@mn thing.

You better not connect directly to the battery without that "egg". What problem you have with the egg? It hatch (sp)?
You can connect directly to the PC PSU 12V source without the egg cuz that is a regulated 12V.

To find wich one is + and - you have to use the meter to check for continuity. A test light also works.

So, just to clarify, I'm fine connecting to the battery as long as the egg remains? That was my original plan, but I needed a little confirmation before I "tested" my theory. I'll check the continuity with my meter as well. I thought I'd ask that as well and save myself a step or two in the process.

What the egg does is provide clean 12v to the screen same as the PSU.like matrix said do not conect you screen to the batt without the egg.

This is probably a huge newby question but how do you split the +12 to power more then one thing. Just solder it all together?

Get a Y spltter from you local PC store.

Solder will work too if you know which wire to solder and good at it
otherwise a drive Y spliter cable/connector work perfect and clean
