How bad?

Does 800x600 look on the Xenarc 7" display? After all my research and investigation and design, I realized (after ordering my entire car PC and it showing up) that my Integrated Intel 865GV Intel Extreme Graphics 2 does not support 800x480 Apparently there are no USB type solutions either. I have a PCMCIA slot available to me, but I was hoping to use that with a cingular EDGE wireless internet card. Any recommendations on how to solve my problem, OR just tell me how bad this is going to look Thanks guys... ::sigh::

it doesn't look bad at all, i don't know what the fuss is about. If you were viewing pics or movies, the video would be stretched, but for video you can correct that with ffdshow.

i dont care about that shiz anyway cause i drive my car and can't watch videos at the same time.

How does ffdshow fix the video issue? Video was my main concern, as it's hard to tell when buttons, GPS, XM radio, visualizations, whatever are stretched. I know i won't be watching the video as the driver but it's one of those "I want it to be perfect" type deals I know one of the first things out of my smarta$$ friends would be "the video looks distorted."

Thanks ahead of time for helping put my worries to sleep.

So if I run at 800x600 on a 7" screen (widescreen capable at that size I believe), that's the most effective way to get DVD playback (from disc) to look correct? Sorry for the questions

you'll need do some research about changing aspect ratios on dvd playback.

i can however confirm that ffdshow will work for video files (divx, etc.). give it a shot yourself.
