Cant turn on Lilliput 7" - Help Please

I just got this lilliput 7" that i bought from a member on this board.

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/classified-archive/53246-entire-carputer-sale.html

First time I use this and it doesn't power on at all. Is it supposed to turn on if I dont plugged it to the laptop or computer. I tried my laptop and still no power. Does it need the drivers to turn on? Sorry for all the questions. I sent the seller an e-mail and waiting for a response but can anyone help me?

also this is what I just saw when I took it apart to inspect it... The blue wire is cut and solded where the circle is.

Are you getting a red power standby light? Does it turn green if you press power?

Something you should definitely check is the small flatcable at the end of the pushbutton circuit board. On many models, it actually has one "wire" less than the connector it sits in!! See if it is properly aligned. The correct position of the flatcable is closest to the middle of the "keyboard". Careful, this stuff is pretty fragile. Don't pull the cable. A misaligned flatcable can only be released by moving the retaining bracket on the connector. Pull it out in the direction of the flatcable, realign the cable and push the retainer back in while keeping things in place.

Hope this helps -- I had the same problem after i'd taken apart my own Lilliput. I really thought the brand new Lilli was history

Also, if your not getting a red light and adjusting the ribbon cable doesnt help. Check the fuse in the top right hand corner of that picture, it's the small rectangular white thing with silver caps

the fuse is circled

if your not getting a light and you are sure the ribbon cable is seated correctly then it should be the fuse

that is a signal input wire, should not affect the ability to turn the screen on

once you get the screen on, then we worry about that one if it's causing a problem

sorry for all the questions and I do apprecatiate all your help.

The seller said he tested everything so I dont know how the fuse would go bad. How would I test it?

with a multimeter, or if you have a soldering iron just solder a temporary bridge across it
