Anyone opened there DWW-700M?
Is there any space left in the "silver box" for a EPIA-N (nano ITX, 12x12cm) ?

erm how high is the board? I don think you have a chance when you consider there is going to mechanisms and wires inside the housing.

No way - half the height of the dww is the screen, then half of whats left is circuit board, youd never get it in

does anybody have some pics of the inside of the screen ?
I've found the button-mod which shows some of the unit disassembled, but haven't been able to find pictures of it completely in bits.
The reason i ask is that i would be interested in getting a slim line CD player in the bottom half (i realise this is a HUGE stretch) or just modify the front so that there ar less buttons.

I will open it ... But i would like to avoid the screwing up part .... so if anybody has some pics, please step forward.
The front portion is definately going to be modified .... i.e. remove the buttons and change the looks of the thing (can't help it, but i don't like it)

You will be the person who is going to start a thread saying it doesn't work and i wonder why.

gimme some credit will ya ... If i can't get my hands on some reliable info on what's where in the screen i'll just do some supreficial mods.
but if someone can tell me how the internals work i'll figure out a way to use the space in a better way (don't need TV, do need CD)

But there's no room in there...
You can tell by the how-to's on Armen's site where everything is that you can touch. There are a few more pics on the 700M "replace touchpanel" how-to, but you can tell that there's just no room to spare in there... Because the screen folds into itself, I'd be surprised if you have more than 20mm of vertical clearance...
And if you're gonna go that route, why not just sell it or trade it and get a 750J, and work on that front fascia instead -- looks like it could be less work.

mhhh .... you might have a point on the 750J, but i dont' feel like paying postage and going through the hassle of selling my unit.
Anyway, i'll have alook at the "replace touchpanel" tutorial, and i will probably realise that there is no room :-/
If i change anything i'll post it in my worklog thread
Thanks for the input

It wont fit - at all, give it up
ive had the lower panel off when I was modding mine and theres a circuit board as well as wires feeding the sliding screen under there, theres no room left for anything else.
