Lillitpu VGA Gone

I've been futzing around with my Lilliput 7" and I've lost my VGA. I had been having some trouble with the ribbon cable but the video in works now so it seems unlikely that that is the problem. Do I have any hope of isolating and overcoming this problem or do I need a new screen?
