I want a lcd... but is this a good one for my needs?
K, i'm soon getting a Honda Accord 2 Door Coupe. If u've seen the deck for one of these, it's a big peice of *****. So.. i'm gonna replace it with a LCD/TFT that CONNECTS to a PC! (7" widescreen if possible). Here is one I came across.
Actual Product: http://www.lik-sang.com/catalog/prod...ducts_id=1374&
Extra pulled apart pictures: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/laxrox/ls...c=ph%26.view=t
I'm thinking of pulling this thing apart and using the lcd screen so that it looks like it came with my car.
I gotta ATI All-In-Wonder card for $40 Canadian (about $23 US) @ a Flee Market which has Video Out using S-Video or RCA Video Out! =)
So, whatcha think? Is it good? I basically wanna use it for music/video's/dvd player/mp3 player, etc.
Please inform me if this is a good solution and if the quality is good.
Thanks! =)

Sheesh! For $200, I might get one. The only thing that worries me is that it doesn't say whether the screen is active or passive matrix. That can make a BIG difference. I'm guessing it's passive since it's so cheap.
I'm also curious about what the size of the unit is. I see the measurements of the package, but not of the actual unit.
If you email them to ask, post the answers.

Just testing. Making sure you guys are paying attention.
An active matrix 7" widescreen for $200 sounds like a good deal to me.

Set up a fake account, but be sure you add your real zip code, city, and state. It'll calculate it before asking for any credit card numbers.
I can get it in 1-3 days for $28, or 7-30 days for $32. Go figure.

I have this screen. Go the the very first post in this thread and you will see pictures of it torn apart. The screen itself is perfect for a double din opening. The rest of the electronics can be hidden elswhere and the case tossed. It is always in wide1 mode. This means it takes a normal 4:3 signal and streaches it to fill the screen. This means you need to change the resolution of you os to a 16:9 format. I have found how to do this in windows 98 but not XP. Shipping was great. Got it in 3 days. I could not figure out why shipping cost got higher as shipping time got longer. 3 day was $28 and 7 day was alot more.

a couple months ago i almost ordered one of these. Well actually i went through with putting the screen in the shopping card but didnt complete entering credit card and shipping info. So about 3 weeks later I got an email from them telling me that they will give the screen for $200 and free shipping to US!!! I should have bought it then but I was stranded on cash and already had spent $250 on a 6.8" TFT. Maybe some of you wanna try that to save on the shipping hehe...

I'm currently using Windows XP, but, for my own info , how did you change letter box (4:3) to Widescreen (16:9) in Windows 98?
Please e-mail me @ WhatsMyNameY2G@hotmail.com
Thanks!
