Flip-Out + Down LCD

I need help finding an LCD. My Volvo S40 has nowhere decent to mount an LCD so I think I am going to use a flip-out screen. As you can see in the picture I want it mounted above the center speaker. I know that most flip out LCDs can come out and up but what about down? I would need one that extends a few inches (about 3) further than the placement of the din. The screen would end were the center speaker does. The button would push out the screen (to about where the AC vents are) and then extend it flat. The picture should explain most of it.

Does anyone know of a screen that would be suitable for this? I was hoping to buy an Xenarc so I have the option of a backup camera later on.

What is that big gray square that looks like it has a grab bar across it? That's the perfect spot for a screen.

Above that is the cd player and below it is the LCD. It is definetly not easier to put a screen there. Check out http://silv3rman.us/volvo/DSC03085.JPG

Wiredwrx has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I think you should just get a motorized unit, and flip it upside down, so that the unit sits on it's "head" It will then extend, and fold down.

You will have to flip the image, either by opening the unit and rotating the screen 180, or using software, which I have heard does exist, but never used.

How do you plan to get the desired rotation without cutting the dash up?

I have though about installing little electonic "pistons" to pop the screen mesh up and have the unit slide out but the angles are not good for that to happen, plus most of these screen units are huge so I would have to remove my center speaker...with I loath to do.

What if you could get the screen to lay flat on its back on top of the speaker then with the press of a button it would swing up to a 90 degree position upright and you could then reach it (maybe, depending on arm length) to control all the functions.

if you were to view it from the side it would go sorta like this: __ -> \ -> | <-(you viewing it)

Anyone know of a way to do that??

Flat on its back will expose the touchscreen to the sun.

I have an installation that is similar to what you are wanting to do. Click on my signature to go to my website and see how I did it.
