Thumbs up this is a cheap display

This display looks good, its 14" and is a monitor, so you'd have to remove the stand. I know its too large for most of us, but those of you with van's and stuff might want to look at it. It's $199.

Nice find... Draws a hefty 3.5 Amps, though... I wouldn't want to run it with the car off for too long...

Isn't that just what the power adapter is rated at? Seems like 3.5A is way too high for an LCD monitor.

3.5A I'm almost certain is too much. I've seen 10.4" displays with 8W power usage, so 42W is far far above what should be required. Even assuming 2x (1.83x the screen area) gives you well under 1/2 the 42W max, so I'd think that's more of a maximum.

So I'd assume around 16W...

geeze, even the manuf's spec sheet doesn't tell you.

However viewsonic has a screen that's pretty much identical in specs to it, and it says "38W (max)" for consumption, so I dunno. That'sa lotta power.

Mind you, my CRT here is 160W so....
