BMW OEM tv screen

I have a 2004 BMW 325ci sport, which came with an stock head unit which has a motorised tv screen and a cd player behind it.

I bought the car second hand and the lcd has a few small scratches on it. Im also looking to do the carputer thing (after a lot more reading of course). My question is:

Is there any way to use/incorporate a touch screen lcd into this unit? or at least replace the scratched screen without replacing the whole unit? ..So far i havent been able to even find the manufacturer or model name of the stock unit so i can find some replacement parts.

Any links/help would be greatly appreciated. And yes, i am a newb.

cheers.

You would need to remove the screen and apply an appropriately-sized touchkit to the screen. DigitalWW sells them in common screen sizes.
Bear in mind that a screen that only has a composite input (the yellow RCA video jack) is going to have a marginally acceptal display AT BEST.

We know you're a n00b because of the postcount.
7" touchkit from DigitalWW (He has them in other sizes as well).
Composite vs VGA screens
