Post Eclipse 7001

Hey guys,

I bought an Eclipse 7001 used a while back and I'd like to get it into my car now. Problem is that it doesn't have the wiring harnesses. I have the in dash unit and the controller box.

Anyone famliar with Eclipse products know where I would get the wiring harness at a good price? I contacted Eclipse directly and they directed me to a local reseller. I spoke with them and the guy looked it up. He said it would run $180. This sounds ridiculous for a set of wires!

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Well, the eclipse uses a toyota power and speaker harness, the 13 pin din will cost you a bit, but not 180$. You can try your local car audio store and ask for a toyota reversal harness and that will get you the speaker and power connection. Then see if you can get just the din cable, I'm guessing about 50$ or 60$.
Hope this helps,
Steve

If it's a atandard Toyota harness why not try a Junk Yard?

OK, I checked up on this...

Turns out you're right... The control box (which I plan to have under the passenger seat) has the same exact 2 plugs as my stock '90 toyota celica tape deck.

So, the control box can get power and stuff, but the dash unit also has a plug of a similar style, but it's 8 pins. Then there's the DIN-style bus from the dash unit to the control box, which looks like it has 20 pins, plus the shielding.

Then on the control box, we have some more stuff. One is a white plug with 2 pins, the other is blue, with 7 pins. I also have a DIN-type CD changer plug and an antenna plug.

Make any sense of this?

It's not stolen... I know the guy who I bought it from... Also, this model of the eclipse doesn't even have a CD mechanism.... I think it's the 7002 that has the activation CD.
