Post Moahdib, LCD info...

Sorry to single you out again (see General), but I was wondering if you could provide detials on your Matrix-Orbital LCD as in where to get it (and for how much), how to interface it - both hardware and software(plugin?), and what else is needed, etc.
Thanks,
Jonathan

The model I am using is a 20X4 LCD (LK204-25) w/ keypad input http://www.matrixorbital.com/products/lk204-25.htm
I bought 3 of them on ebay for about $100. I am using one and the other 2 I sold on ebay for $60 a piece (i basically got it free)

Since I was very happy with the transaction, I bought from www.eio.com another LCD...Seiko L2014 20X4 which is backlit and factory inversed for $15. From then I just disassembled and desoldered the LCD in the matrix orbital and replaced with the seiko...and what you get is an inversed matrix-orbital LCD!

As far as software goes there are a bunch out there... my favorite is markus zhender winamp plugin ( which is what I use) there is also one from www.borderfield.com which you can display fan speed, temperatures, voltage, ip address, and a whole bunch of other things...

that's it for now...i'm tired.... i should be a moderator with the amount of typing i do on this bb. (hint hint)
To interface it...read the manual. And don't use 12V or you will fry the LCD.... ( one of the guys I sold it to did just that thinking it was the wide voltage model)

Yeah you can but... I ended up screwing up the soldering joints on the M.O. LCD while trying to desolder it... It's NOT an easy task.
