VGA to RGB interface...again!!

I read all the old posts on RGB interfacing to in dash LCD units from Pioneer... and I believe Alpine and Clarion also have RGB IN on their lcd's, but it seems that no one gave any working solution. So my question is has anyone successfully got a VGA to RGB interfacing to work?? If so tell us how??? =)

sorry for being so annoying but I want something better than TV-OUT for my next upgrade...... and these in dash 7" LCD's looks waaayyyy cool.
In particular I was wondering about the Pioneer AVX7000 which has RGB input...
give me your input fellas....

moahdib, while I haven't "successfully got a VGA to RGB interfacing to work" for my car PC system, I make a living integrating computer & television equipment to work together so we reasonably aught to come up with a solution.
In your earlier post today about the Jaton video card, you seem to be saying that you've got good looking TV-rate video out of that card. The video displays that are used for TV are fixed-frequency and MUST receive the correct line & field rates in a composite sync signal in order to work.
When you say you "want something better than TV-OUT", are you saying better than the 640 x 480, or hopefully 860 x 486 resolution for widescreen, or where is it that the problem lays?

Why not just get a laptop screen from http://www.earthlcd.com ?

Or do you want it to fold away etc too?

That is why I went with the laptop screen, cause computer output looks like crap on TV.

I would want it to fold away...bc I dont have the patience to tear down my dash and redo it... I plan to trade in my car for a new one so the less damage, the better

as far as resolution is concerned...doing 860X486 for widescreen would be perfect...but 640X480 would still be 10X better than composite signal. BTW is this the right order of bad to good screen types?

Has anyone ever found a LCD with SVideo input??? Only one I have seen is a Pioneer 8inch that costs 2 arms and 2 legs

Composite < S-VIDEO < RGB (VGA) is right, but I would add that Video-RGB is not always the same thing as PC-RGB (VGA). RGB will always look best for an analog PC to display connection
In addition, those 7inch video screens that we are talking about are still only showing about 480H x 240V res, even with the PC putting out 640H x 480V.
