Post Question for all the lcd experts

I came across 2 defective HP LaserJet III printers that contain workable displays (I think 20 x 2). I pulled the LCD out it comes with a board (14 pins soldered to the board from the display) that has a nice cable connection. My question is can I use this for my display?

is there a model # on the lcd? You'd need to know what type of lcd it is..if it had the controller built in...if it was HD44780 compatible, it'd be really easy to hook up. (I did a search on the internet but couldn't find the model # in that printer)

The back of lcd board has A sticker with the following: RH6-3068 AND 2117 01S and has EDMUC1613056 right on the board and GB-149v-O S in the front. The lcd is the soldered to a keypad ICI LS14

I can asure you it is HD44780 compatible. They are most commonly used LCD screens and widely used in different computer hardware.

Great how do I connect it to a printer port? I checked a diagram and it contained 18 pins but this display only has 14.
