Have thet agreed to that then.

Kind of, they said they would contribute to the return postage but I'm hoping to push them into refunding all the postage. I'm just totally *****ed off with it so I don't really want another one. My install is finished except for the screen which is why I'm so annoyed.

I totally understand, I spent all day yesterday rewiring my car front to back to take this screen, but now it doesn’t work I either change it all back so I can use my Xenarc or leave it in a mess till this problem is sorted.

Ex-audio assured me two days ago, my screen had been checked on the bench before dispatch, and I had nothing to worry about. What the f**k do you do next wait for another bad one to come.

This is how my screen looks when I power it now.Lights come on but thats it.

regal let me ask you a question. Before you press the radio button and the screen was out. Were the light lit up like in that picture above? Because mine isn't. They only light up when I go into radio mode (i.e. screen closed).

To be honest Blackflux I’m not sure, I was that pleased it was working until I pressed the darn button, when I power it up now the light doesn’t come on until I turn the large knob on the left, it powers up in radio mode but it won’t tune or anything. Every thing seems dead, the PC doesn’t recognise the USB when I plug it that in.

It is possible that the screen is stuck in the closed position. Is it beeping?

Tried to give the screen a helping hand but it won’t budge.

It's not doing anything apart from displaying the audio channel.

The thing I find strange is if I unplug the ground or Batt wire, it doesn’t alter.

Looks like only the switched wire is connecting inside.

Maybe it has some kind of locking mechanism to keep you from opening while the radio is on? I don't see the point of the screen closing in radio mode though... seems pretty stupid.

But it's playing music, right? I still think the radio button came loose inside or something, so it doesn't know that you're trying to get it out of radio mode. But I don't know if you've cracked it open already or not... seeing the kind of customer support those guys have, I don't know what to tell you. I would have opened it up to see if I can find out what's going on, but I don't know if it'd void your warranty (FWIW)

Good luck.

I don’t know if it’s playing music because I didn’t get that far with the installation.

Well it looks like it wouldn’t be to hard to get in and have a look, plus there are no warranty stickers, I can’t imagine any thing falling off inside, more like a programming fault or something has fried.
I’m waiting to see what ex-audio come up with before I do anything,
I’m sure we must have electronic wizards in the UK that could sort it out for the same price as shipping it back to Hong Kong.

Ok, my screen was more or less the same as regals, when you press any button it goes into radio mode. The buttons light up but if you try to change mode "audio" stays lit up and the unit beeps twice as it tries to open, it does this twice and then goes back to radio mode. I don't know if there's any audio coming out as I have everything wired up for audio though a head unit in the glovebox.

When mine was working all the lights come on in any mode but the lights on the screen stayed on all the time but the front facia lights (vol, mute etc) except the clock faded out after about ten seconds - Which is a pretty cool feature

What you see in the picture is all I get, no beeps no anyting, the lights come on only after turning the large knob. No option to go in any other mode.

Just received a reply from ex-audio after a steaming letter telling me to return it for repair or replacement with a warranty warring

This item's warranty becomes void:

1) If damaged is caused by: Undue wear & tear, dirt, misuse, incorrect installation or operation, neglect, accident or similar cause.
2) If the warranty seal (the silver sticker with "EX" logo on it) is removed or damaged.

Mine has no silver sticker on to start with, most of the packaging on my was seconhand, CD used, front fitting in a carry bag ECT.

I would suggest a negative feedback with the link of this thread as the text! Then people would see that and not buy the screen. However It would give you an advantage because, eaudio will probably ask you to remove the negative feedback etc.. Then you say: Until I get my screen fixed or replaced I am not going to take my feedback back! Could work! I am expecting mine in a couple of days (received tracking info). If I get a similar screen I will do it!
