New Seller / Same HU??

Hi all,

Spent the last few hours reading the gory details surrounding the in-dash monitor from Lilliput. YUK!!

I found this on e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Lilliput-7-In-Da...QQcmdZViewItem

My question: you guys that are having all these problems, does your unit have the "screw in VGA plug"? and the "new" "AV input connection now locks in, no more usb connection to fall out!"? The RCA adapter looks a little different than some of the pics I've seen in this thread too.

What I'm getting at is, with these new advances, could this be round 2 of the monitor or the same crap everyone else has in varios stages of refund or repair?

BTW, I am plotting my system in my evil little head. So on the Done-O-Meter I stand fast at .5%. This unit, if it works, would solve alot of problems. Going into a big ol' Caddy 94 DeVille, what the hell, everything else is computerized!

Great board BTW!!! Hope I can be of service as well!

That's total crap, I had one of the first wave they all have the same screw in connection, I now have a 629 standard lilliput touchscreen and that has a screw in connector too.
The mini d-sub plug is different but in an earlier post I noted another seller just putting pictures of any accessories with there listing but then this apparently contains an ac adapter and a stand!?! A stand for a f**king in dash screen, what complete balls, if the seller can't get that right then don't believe any of their other claims.

Mp3car seem to have inside info so until you hear different from them steer clear of this unit, ask coucouillu...

Ps. Welcome to the board quantum

Yeah, huge amounts of glare and reflections! Would have been even better if the guy was video taping it in his skivvies!

From what I gather in this thread, I understand that glare is a problem on most touch screens.

Our Aussie bretheren have created this instant spray on solution for TVs https://www.glarebusters.com/

I also found this on a quick Google search. http://www.azom.com/details.asp?ArticleID=2410

I specialize in eyeglasses, and we have glare coatings for spectacle lenses that work wonders. They aren't sssssssssprayed on, but rather factory applied hard coat / glare coat. The glare coatings increase transmission (whatcha see) by reducing glare and letting more light through. Wonder if a product like the film or even the spray or something similar would work. Has anybody tried?

Let's not open this can o worms again. In order to get rid of the glare on these TS is to change the type of TS overlay. There is nothing, I REPEAT NOTHING, you can do to this screen to cut the glare down without making the display seriously fuzzy. There have been many threads started about this subject and all of them ended the same way.

I completly agree we need to look for better Touchscreen Overlays as thats where all the glare is coming from
