My Screen
Hi
I was directed here after purchasing a 7” in-dash TFT touch screen from eBay. Ive read most of this thread now and im quite sure on what the defects of it are. I finally received my new screen yesterday after waiting 1 week for the delivery. Ive connected it up temporally in my car for testing purposes and couldn’t find a single problem with anything? Am I just lucky? The screen quality I would say was excellent and ive had no problems with the motor either, it works everytime! Should I expect that im due something to go wrong? Has anyone else experienced this to unit to be fine then just break coz I kinda just have my fingers constantly crossed at the moment.
Cheers

Well firstly the delivery time was very good I waited months form mine and so did many other buyers, I think a lot of us received screens that shouldn’t have been sent out in the first place, I have spoken to Lilliput UK and they’ve told me they haven’t had one come back faulty so It looks like they might have sorted out the early problems, if its working fine now with every thing connected including all the speakers then the chances are yours will be fine.
Keep us posted how it goes after a few days or weeks.
Good Luck

I ordered one from EX-Audio. The monitor never made it into the car...Opens and closes well. Video is fine. I didn't get to test am/fm or tv tuner. But straight from the box, the LCD display has a defective character on the left side of the time. Other than that, it works fine. Anybody interested PM me. I rather get rid of it than to pay for international return.

I finally just received my replacement from Ex-Audio, a brand new Lilliput. I haven't opened the box yet. I was actually part of this discussion when the thread first started, and was one of the first to get a faulty unit. Since then, I decided to purchase the Xenarc pull-out In-Dash.
Now, I'm left with a brand new Lilliput to sell. Anybody interested, please PM me.

How do you like the Xenarc indash? The only downfall in my opinion is that it's not motorized..but then again. That's one less thing to wear n tear.

It is great. Yes, the only downfall is it not being motorized. Actually, in my car it's kind of nice since my AC controls are behind the screen. I can easily fold the monitor down now to access them. It's a great monitor.

Hi,
Looks like i got a dodgy one too... I found this site after I had already ordered a screen of ExAudio (Ebay) I got the screen wired it all up, had a few problems with it like freezing staying up sometimes and no VGA signal sometimes even though everything was connected... After unplugging everything and fitting again it kind of worked, however after 2 days the screen has completely gone each time I power on the car the screen comes on VGA mode, the rest of the buttons on the bottom part of the fascia do not work, no on/off power no radio or even volume controls... the only button that seems to work is the source selecter which switches from AV to VGA and TV... Its just stuck in the same position also and wont go back into place im also getting a loud clicking sound in the speakers when the screen is on
Have emailed exaudio and am waiting for a reply, i really hope something can be sorted with this as soon as possible as I have everything else all wired up and ready to be used with no screen just an empty hole where the screen should be

Really sorry to hear that M8 but I cant say I'm surprised, You will have to ship it back to them for replacement and the quickest they've been so far for me is one month , I hope you have more luck. I've had three now and they’ve all packed up in minuets. I've now paid 3 lots of Tax and 2 lots of shipping and I'm still suck with a faulty screen.

Thanks mate, hope I can get it sorted soon, horrible driving a mercedes with its guts hanging out
Just whilst im waiting for them to reply to my professional threatening emails, does anyone know if you need to do anything with the green and brown "NE" cables, it says in the manual they arent used and just hang them in the air, I just taped them up and left them behind the unit but are these really spare or should they be wired to something??? whats the point in adding these wires if they dont do anything, just using up valuable space in a cramped area?
Also I was getting a lot of noise from the system, this happened as soon as I turned on the system and the laptop? I know its not a power/inverter issue as this is before I fitted one... The laptops just running of its own battery but as soon as I plug in the RCA cable to Phone cable into the laptop I start getting a low humming, have used good quality cables, have the cables away from any power cables and they are supposed to be shielded, I even wrapped the cable connectors in tape then covered them with foil then wrapped more tape around them lol
I was getting the No VGA Signal message a few times too, but if I went to screen properties and the second monitor option, there was an option to turn on the monitor in there, selecting this would give me a picture on the liliput... dont know why it seemed to turn off the monitor sometimes, probably a driver issue on my laptop though

Lol, well it is bad on their part selling defective products to people all around the world where it is difficult to get a replacement, it should be thoroughly tested before hand and if its failing so often as it seems to be it shouldnt be available for sale...
Im sure my one is also second hand cos its got a few scrapes on the sides...

My first two were repaired or repacked, both unites looked well used and the boxes were a disgrace, you need to report them to eBay and paypal, trust me four or five months down the line it will be too late. I have reported them twice but they still tell me there’s nothing they can do unless they have more complaints, eBay say there not responsible for the sellers on eBay they just provide a meeting place for buyers and sellers, what a load of crap. Trust me guys do it now you will thank me five months down the line when Ex-audio are still missing you about.
