My screen was only ordered a few weeks ago, so it should have been a new batch too for me it wasnt a problem with the motor though, the unit just wouldnt turn off had no volume control and non of the other buttons worked neither, the motor broke afterwards i think...

Even after all the bad reports about these screens it sounds like buyers are still trying to kid themselves the next one will be better than the last, I’ve had three so far and they've all been junk.

I bought mine before I read any of the bad reports, heard of liliput screens before on ebay most the screens for sale where all from liliput so I assumed it would have been a good company... Did a search on the actual screen itself, found details of it before I bought it all the reviews just told u of the features and how great it was but ebay exaudio was the only place I found it for sale so I ordered it, I found this site afterwards would love an alternative, saw another touch screen motorised screen but its missing some features is expensiver and the screen itself looks really fat in the pictures...

I have one small problem tho,, im running this off a laptop and whenever you go into VGAMODE for the screen to come on i cant control the volume (because it runs from the laptop) How could i get this to work? I have a RCA lead going from the laptop to an amp, then to the unit.. Could i get a remote control for Windows? and control it without touching the unit? Any help would be great lads

Do you mean you can't alter the volume in windows or you can't alter the volume on the head unit? I assume you mean in windows since you say

Why not just use the volume in your front end or in the task bar?

Have you got all 4 speakers working correctly and outputting the correct sound (ie front and rear, left and right all correct) as this was another issue others had with the unit.

I have got two of these ****ty unit not working. I have decided to keep them and try to find the problem...

I decided not to send it back to ex audio because of costing me too much in tax and shiiping costs....

I think I am in a good way.

The fist one stay opened (can't close it or pass in radio mode) but the screen is on and I can play Video1,video2,VGA

The second is all blocked : can not do anything. The little blue screen stay in radio mode at 106.4 Mhz and screen is off.

The problem seems to come from an eeprom ship on the back of the main board : 24C02

I have made a system able to read the memory inside this eeprom and I am comparing the memory of the two chip (one ship each unit)

To confirm my theory , I need the .hex file from an 24c02 from a working unit.

The probelm is that noone would unsolder the little SMD chip, plug it to an eeprom programmer, read the eeprom, save in a text file and send it to me.

If my theory is true, the unit should works good again untill it will have a mistake in this chip when writting, causing THESE BUGS

I think Lilliput should send you any parts required for free to put these right, after all it must be bad workmanship that cause all these screens to fail in the first place.

Perhaps you could teach them a thing or two along the way.

I will try to work with them you're right, but it seems to be more difficult than expected.

The unit does what it wants and never do the same thing

hope will find a solution.

The unit doesnt really have control over windows sound, the only way to control it is through the laptop, there are windows remote controls available try ebay, the cheapest method is an external IR port they used to be about £10 (RS232), which u can mount somewhere at the front and program the controls using software like Girder... last time I played with these you could program it to do quite a lot and use any normal IR remote control u like

Heres a USB one with its own remote...

Just ask Lilliput instead of having to do expensive recalls or swap out's would they be prepared to send a complete new circuit board to people that are competent enough to fit them themselves, this would save them and us allot of time and money in the long run.

If you get any sort of reply from Lilliput please let us no, I've sent four or five to them and never had a reply.

Good Luck
