Well guys my second hand Pioneer CNDV-X1 came on Monday and its now fitted in my BMW Z3 and working with no problems at all, it just proves there’s nothing wrong with the way we install the Lilliput in-dash unit, the fact is there just ******* rubbish.

It's been a very expensive exercise for me having three Lilliput units first before coming to my sénces and buying a reputable brand but I have learnt one thing and that is you get what you pay for.

The Pioneer has brilliant sat nav, radio, mp3 & DVD player plus you can add a TV tuner and lots more, what more could you ask for, they are now available on eBay cheaper than building and installing a car-pc and still having a crappie screen when it's finished.

My Nicely boxed Lilliput is now been used what it was designed for, a doorstop.

I will never buy anything from Hong Kong ever again, Lilliput products are absolute rubbish. but the way ex-audio treat customers is appalling.

How many broken Lillipus have you got at home?
What do you aim do with them?
Do you aim sell them for spare parts ?

About your pioneer, is it an AVIC X1 ?
Do you think it is possible to plug VGA input via an adaptator (like VGA-->RGB adaptator) into it?

Thank you for purpose your help.

I would like know if you unit works .

I mean :

1) Does the screen goes IN/OUT and flip UP/DOWN correctly.
2) Could you navigate trhought TV to RADIO without any problem (like radio still blocked).
3) Have you ever open your unit. Because the part I need for test need to be unsoldered after having the entire unit unscrew.
4) Does the clock works correctly (I mean seconds should works)

If all answers of these questions are YES, I will need your help like that:

1) Unsettle your Liiliput, and under the main board there is an litltle chip named 24C02 (This an Eeprom)
2) Unsolder this chip and send it to me by normal mailling. (I could participate for shipping cost).

Then when received, I will copy the Eeprom memory and will test if this is the real problem of Lilliput's indash screen.

After that I will resend you your eeprom by mail.

And after all that we will could try to repair your unit.

another solution could be that you send me your broken lilliput, I do what I have to do with eeprom and after I repair yours. But It will costs more for shipment.

What do you think about that ?

I only have one unit at home but its dead. I intend to keep hold of it and see what happens.

Not sure, about the Pioneer, you can add a TV tuner and Vid source so maybe you could, have a look on this forum.

coucouillu: sorry didn't replied sooner but i have been out for a few days, i still can navigate all the channels from the tv, change the video modes, the clock works, the radio works, the goes in/out, flip up/down correctly, and YES i will help on that, but it will take some time, because of christmas and to arrange someone to unsold it because i don't have the equipment to do it.

I'm not gonna fix it, im happy, and trully happy with the k300, and the amplifier, i have 30 gbs of unknown music, they are gonna be may radio, until i get some more musics.

A friend of mine asked me to sell to him the lilliput, after you copy the epprom, i will, at least to gain some lost money on this joke.

So I have skimmed through the last 70 pages... basically I should not buy this screen from ebay because it is a high risk of having it break within 2 weeks. Does anyone out there have a working one?

So now what screen should I go with?

Mp3car MTSVO-SC Fully motorized VGA Touch Screen

Anyone know if it will hold up together?

Way to change the subject, do a search for answers on other monitors

Regal (and anyone else interested) I sent my monitor back and sucessfully claimed back the import duty, I filled out the customs claim as "Warrentee return" and have received a cheque from customs - They didn't ask any questions about whether I had another of the same or a different product. Regal you must have spend serious money on duty alone, so you at least get back some money... Unfortunately not any sanity though!!

Interesting, would I have to send my piece of junk back before I could do this, did you have to show any paperwork.

Only the items you have sent back, you just need to quote the shipping references for the items you have returned, if you can photocopy the paperwork and attach it that will help. You can't claim back the ups handling fee though.
