any questions just ask!, my sincere regrets go to regal and the others here that have had problems with it...

thanks

That's good to hear about the fast delivery, when did you order it (ebay auction ID number would be helpful) and how many days has it been installed?

About the clock, is it possible the red and yellow wires are switched, either color or usage? The origionals were crap for their wire colors, completely incorrect.

One last question, are you using all 4 speaker outputs?

Thanks

ordered it on the 23rd of dec, they posted it on the 24th, fed ex being the best delivery company in the world shipped it over christmas and boxing day and i got it on the 29th, im not going to give out personal details like my ebay username on a public forum! sorry!

using 2 speakers only! its been installed about a week, ive taken it out for the time being because it juices my battery!

i dont think its the wire problem, i got a friend to look at it as well and he came to the same conclusion (install a relay) if i swap the wires around all the power will be going through the ignition!

I have two of indash Lilliput.

When I tried to buld my touch screen test (pictures will be upload here
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-display/63057-touch-screen-upgrade.html
) placing two screen one near the other, i have noticed a high difference beetween the two screen.

after investigations, I have found :

Lilliput have change their HITACHI panel :

Old one are TX18D11VM1CAA
The new ones are TX18D16VM1CAA

You could see the difference of characteristics on HITACHI website.

The pictures have been taken with same settings on each screen.

The difference you could see are due to the better quality of the new screens.

look at the difference:

No, I mean.. possibly the case for select few, but there's no way so many people all can't follow wire guide directions.

It sounded to me like the problem occured when all 4 speaker channels were hooked up, or possibly overly sensitive/under developed internal circuitry that can't handle the noisy power coming from 14.5v car.

I'm assuming when exaudio was testing the units and finding them to be fine, it was on a bench with a constant 13.7v and 1 Maybe 2 8ohm speakers.

Constant supply, minimal load.

In reality we have surging voltage ranging from 8v to 14.5v with oscillating noise from distributers/many other electronic devices in the car and 4 4ohm speakers.

Relatively crappy supply, demanding load.

If you really are looking to see if your new unit is in fact a good stable version, try hooking up all 4 channels and if it blows, ask for your money back through paypal while you still can.

sup guys,

i saw this screen in person at the CES show ... it did not have any issues. The developer did acknowledge issues with the motor, but that's about it. I actually dind't read this thread till today =/

I'm getting a couple next week ... gotta find out if this is a new batch or not.

Lilliput actually said to wait till end of Feb because the new batches are all corrected models apparently.

What I am waiting from Lilliput is to send me corectly flash microcontroler and eeprom. Because I have open my two units and they won't want to change them.

I just can’t keep away from this thread even though it hurts to think I’m out off pocket by £400.

Over there wrote, relatively crappy supply, demanding load.
Now that’s a brilliant description for Ex-Audio

Nadir s wrote,

Now were have I herd that before

hahaha, guys I've got the FUNNIEST story ever (about this whole episode at least). My sister was going to mail out the screen from HK since she's visiting, but:
"Also, um we hand-delivered your package because there can't be a US return address. Anyhow, we got you a new whatever it was that you returned. The only thing is that the cable is different than the original one you got. This is supposedly the new way of production... I hope it works either way. The people were really weirded out by us showing up live in person. *** and I kinda scared them I guess. "

the cable she refers to is the D-Sub cable. I guess they made some pretty big changes to the new batch? maybe it's not just hearsay after all.

it works it works! the alternator is completely gone now too. it was awful on my old one. i do have a noise filter, tho. also, the build is improved. crappy audio cards that were tearing out of my old one are now plastic reinforced. looks somewhat sturdy. will complete install this weekend with update. maybe, just maybe, Stephen wasn't lying this time.
