This is the new one :

The clock is ON and freezed or is the clock off?

in the first case, there is the same problem as old ones. in the second case, test the unit putting red and yellow wire together on 12 volts and try to turn ON the unit.

the only way to switch to vga is to press on PC/AV button on the right of the screen or on the remote control. but when the unit is frozen, i remember that remote controldo not work.

One cant believe it can one , I have one new and still boxed, it worked for five minuets before retiring just like the other two I had. If any one wants to make me an offer,
Instead of buying one on eBay that won’t work when you get it buy mine and make me happy.

I attempted to read this entired thread but started seeing stars after page 56.

As a result I now have a few questions.
1> are the screens working now? i assume they should be working as mp3car are selling them?
2> were any of the issues ever resolved e.g. refunds?
3> are ex-audio still trading on ebay?

Thanks in advance

I can only answer question 2, ex-audio are rip off merchants and don’t give a **** about public relations, no refunds just crap exchange after crap exchange.

If mp3car are selling these units maybe they should organise a recall for all there members that have been ripped of with these screens for the past year.

Regarding to Lilliput 701 screen,it was been produced since 2005(about two year),at the first half year, there have a little bugs, such as,sound, radio, mechanical failure, etc. then we stop sales about half a year, find the fault, solve the problem. then it was perfected, then sale it at the begining of this year. you can be assure that it was a high quality, thanks.

Best wishes and thanks

Let say we give Lilliput the benefit of the doubt and they are telling the truth. If that is the case, this is what I think is happening. Your seller would have purchased a bulk load of these screens in 2005. They then get hit with people returning the screens left right and center. When the seller exchanges it for you, they exchange it for one of the current stock that they're holding... still the same batch of stock. They would've then returned the faulty stock to Lilliput for exchange. This would've been happening for a while until Lilliput stopped manufacturing for a while. That is when, I guess, some people were getting delays on their returns and maybe some sellers were trying to fix the fault themselves without success due to pressure from the customer. It would take a while for the stock to filter through from the manufacturer to the sellers because of the distribution delay.

On the other hand, if you've dealt with Lilliput directly and it's still faulty then my guess is that they're full of crap.

Lilliput are full of ****, I mailed Lilliput 10 times when I was having problems with these screens and I never received one reply.
The third generation screens still live up to the Lilliput name.

I know this thread is getting old, and a month since the last post. I have been using this screen (only the vga and touchscreen) for almost a year. this is after 2 DOA units/no power. well just recently the STUPID little plastic gear for the lift motor broke and I have NO intention of dealing with hong kong again.

Coucouillo specifically, I need your help.

I aim to discard the body (radio tv/tuner/caseing) and simply use the vga and touchscreen portion of the screen. You said a few pages ago that you have pinouts for the ribbon cable out of the screen. could you please post those pinouts for vga, usb and if possible, the av1 inputs. I would certianly appreciate this.
