I've only tested my lilliput on a bench, but it seems to work great (minus the issue I've been discussing in this thread).
Anyway I am about to install my unit and I have two power cables an ACC cable which is fused and a BATT cable which isn't. When I tested the unit with a DC power supply I just hooked them both to +12V. I was wondering if I should hook them both directly to the battery or do I need to hook one to the line that only turns on with the car. Thanks for your help.

Unless you want to have to turn the unit on and off every time, attach the ACC cable to a switched source. There is a menu option to set the unit to automatically turn on. It's extremely convenient.

I had the same problem. Line-out worked for the TV tuner but did not switch the VGA Line-In when the VGA source was selected. In the end, I said **** it and ran the line-out from my PC straight to my head-unit. I actually prefer it like that now because I can turn the display off while I'm driving to satisfy Australian law (can't have an LCD "video" display visible by the driver while driving) if I want to.

My Review of the Lilliput
Hello All,
This past weekend I bought and had installed the LCD that is available from Geeks.com, which I believe is basically the Lilliput 7".
So far it is working great and I am liking it. I have post a little review and pics under "Show off your Project Thread".
You can check it out there. I hope everything continues to work fine.
Please let me know if you have any opinions, commments, suggestions.
This is my first project and just the beginning. As I acquire more equipment, I will try to update
Thanks

Is the option to have it automatically turn on available if I connect ACC to a switched source? Also what do I connect the reverse to? By default do I want to ground the cable, set it to 12V, a switched source or leave it floating? I don't know if my car has a line that changes when the car goes into reverse. Thanks for your help.

Hey GunsandRoses
When you place your car in reverse, your reverse lights come on. If you tap into that fuse/wire, you will have what you need.
I've got the same screen and have been having none of the severe problems like those in the beginning of the thread.
However, I do not have the instruction manual and cannot figure out how to set the clock. Any suggestions?
Cheers

OK, I have a problem.
I was doing some work on the test bench today and reversed the polarity accidentally through my head unit (Lilliput 7 inch in-dash thing). I've replaced the external blade fuse and tryed powering it up again and the fuse keeps blowing on me. I also reversed the polarity through my Computer at the same time and replaced the fuse on the M2-ATX controller and it now works fine.
I've read in other threads that some Lilliput screens have a secondary fuse. I opened the case up and had a look, and can't see anything that looks like a fuse. Could there be a 'dummy diode' there somewhere for idiots like myself who chose to accidentally wire things backwards? Would would I be looking for?

It makes me EXTREMELY happy to know that this thread saved even one soul from the evil clutches of this horrendous $400 pile of crap.
