8bit lcd question

anyone out there use a 8bit lcd with a dvd player attached to it? I'm wondering how the quality is. I'm guessing not that great but since its for the car i'm not looking for great totally crisp like TV. Its a 5'6 inch lcd.

8 bit color is 256 colors, and 12 bit is 4096 colors. If you want to see how a screen in these colors would look, go to your control panel on your home pc and set your colors to these. Both are going to be unacceptable for DVD playback. 8 bit will probably be unviewable, and 12 bit would be really washy and lots of color bleeding. Bottom line, skip the 8 bit and 12 bit for DVD.

thanks for the reply, I would change my display for DVD if i had a dvd player on my computer. I guess I'll look around for a 16bit lcd screen then. I wish 8bit was enough since they are around 100 bucks now
