Question has anyone tried v1.17 bios for M10000 yet? (to get 800x480)

I read it on viaarena.com, there's an unreleased beta version bios for M10000, which supposely support 800x480...

I don't have the nerve to try it on my carputer, cos incase it doesn't work, taking it out of my car is pain in the ***...

is there anyone brave enough to test it out?

I bet is the same VGA block from the past mods......

Edit:

THe key to get it right is in the refresh rate. If this one has more than the default one(60hz) we are in business.

yes...(.rom as in every single block that make a .bin file) we have a guy that bought a .bin file from VIA and that one + video driver put 800x480 and a bunch of deferent screen resolutions in the list all modes but only at default refresh rate...

Is this the same unreleased BIOS as discussed in this thread a while back? I'm guessing probably.

I couldn't lock on to 800x480,, only 60hz refresh was available. I'll try this out, but I'm not optimistic.

Oh please people, be clear!

Do you have:

- 800*480 resolution (NOT 848*480!!!)
- @something else than 60Hz
- your lilliput/xenarc/whatever native 800*480 screen (so no crt!) locking and recognizing this resolution

If not, please tell so too, so i'm not waiting for answers that'll never come (and a lot of athers with me).

Thanks!

I tried this a while back and I couldn't get it to work. It wasn't even clear to me which driver version i needed to use. Using the latest drivers didn't provide an 800x480 setting using the drivers supplied with the 1.16 modified bios didn't work for me either. The only time I've seen 1:1 pixel mapping is when I set the resolution to 800x600@60hz, the result is an 800x480 lock but I'm missing the bottom of the screen... so... please post details!!!
