Touch screen not worky worky (T-View 7")

First of, i made my own fabrication and needed to modify/relocate some of the components in the lcd screen. And now the touch screen is KAPUTTSKI, it seems. But what is the problem?

Windows detects the touch screen controller , and installs the driver and everything. XP announces proudly that the new device is installed and ready to be used...

I'm thinking that the cable from the controller to the screen must be damaged or the touch panel is damaged, since the controller seems to work alright. So if this is the case i just have to replace the touch panel, right?

That woud be correct, if the touch controller is installing sucessfully then you should be good to go with a new TS panel.

have you checked just to make sure that the connector didnt come loose at the end of the TS panel? because it is strange that your getting no touch response at all, most the time they will give you at least a bad response. One last thing I would just check is to make sure nothing is pressing hard onto the TS panel when it's mounted, because that can also cause it to seem bad.

Yeah the connector is ok, however i might have tighten everything a little hard... The modifications i made included a new way of mounting the screen, so that may very much be the problem. Thanks a lot. I will investigate tonight.

Problem more or less solved. The touchpanel cabel was a "little" too much bendt. It works now, question is only how long it will work before it breaks off...
Thanks again jcdillin, you saved me both time and money

Cheers

Well the key word would be LESS!

The connection is messed up about here(see img). If i wiggle it around the touchscreen works, and 2 sek later not.

How do i fix this? Open up and perform surgery(soldering, is it possible)?
Or is there some other way to patch things up? Just want to ask before i mess things further to the point of no return

- Must have touch screen -
