Post car TV antenna

Anyone know where to find a cheap TV antenna for the car? I know it has to be some special kind because your car is always moving.... this is to be used with an ATI AIW card. The one's I have seen cost $100+ now for a damm antenna I can't believe it's so expensive...

Well, its nothing special for the ati card, it uses a std antenna.

You could put rabit ears on it, I modified an amplified antenna for my setup, and ran the telescoping metal along the edges of the back windshield.

Some other options,

The systems you hear people talking about are "Diversity Antena systems" I have seen one by magnavog and pionear, they have 4 elements to pick up a signal, the brain of the system has a chip inside that looks at each element , and picks the best 2 for use, and continues to sample and switch the signal as you move around. they tend to be really expensive though. And IMHO - useless.

Honestly - I have an ATI AIW pro.
I do like it, I use the dvd, and sometimes the tv, but I really think if I did it over, I would use an external (USB or maybe just a plain old tuner) tv tuner. I only get 1 - 4 chanels most of the time, and reception is poor, I think It has to do with noise from the PSU, or something. but I know if I take a pocket sized tv and mount it on the dash, I get beter reception.

Just my .02

Get you a roof antenna, and mount it on the top of your car, just be careful when you go under an overpass

Not true. A FM antenna is not properly tuned for both UHF and VHF. If you plug it in and get NOTHING, then maybe. But I wouldn't say that it will not help.

I just finished hooking up the TV antenna to my stock car FM antenna and it works BEAUTIFULLY!
I don't get a perfect signal but it's good enough to watch the Lakers hehe
In detail this is what I did... i opened my head unit and soldered extension wires on the FM antenna jack to my TV antenna. And that goes into the my WinTV card. I didn't even need to add a signal amplifier. It works great as is!
I guess I am gonna have to do another update to my website...*sigh*
