Post 20 bit = high color or 256 ??

Alright this is my last question before I start answering them, , now this lcd is running 20 bits of color is that comparable to 256 color (8 bit) or is it like high color (16 bit).

I guess this confuses me ... any help or explanation would be lovely.... thanks ,,,,

Well itīs between high color(16 bit) and true color(24 bit), wich means 20 bits = 1048576 colors. Got it?

How do you get 20-bit color setting on your computer?
Usually it goes like this:
256colors
16bit-true
24bit-true
32bit-true

The controller card should be able to do it. The CHIPS controller I have better be able to do 12 bit, becuase that's what my lcd is

hey thanks, for the respose I am getting this whole lcd thing, little bastards are complicated dont you think.... So In Your honest opinions do you think that this is or not a great lcd for the forseen project.... 640*480 should be enough to show dvd's I would think ...

looks like I am somewhat talking to myself, well it at least makes me feel better .....
I was thinking about swapping the vertical and horizontal sync, now relastically would that switch it on its side, or would I have a real nice frisbee made of glass....

by the way found the pinouts for it ... http://www.inside-usa.com/documents/d00040-0.htm posting it cause it makes me happy ... woooo hooo ....

Respond on wether its possible....

Flipping the horiz and vert sync woulnt't work.

There is software to do that, we were looking for it in the software forum, I think.
