smaller touch screen display
I have been doing alot of research on the forums here and other places trying to figure out the best carpc solution for my new Audi A3.
After taking some measurements, I am afraid that a 7inch lcd wont fit where I want my screen to be (it could work but the measurements are xtremely close so I would be more comfortable just going with a smaller screen).
Are there any vga touch screens out there that are smaller tha 7 inches?
thanks
pedro

There are. But unless your Audi is really weird, you ought to be able to get it to fit. Read the thread in the display section on "Everything you need to know about your Lilliput". There are dimensions in that thread both in and out of the bezel.

this is the latest small lcd that I have been turned on to by alti..... its a 6.4" & there are touch overlays available to..... the real good thing is that it is also 800 nitts brightness!!!!!! this is a huge step up from a lilli..... only drawback is that it is native 640X480...... not the worse thing, but an issue non the less..... it's around $450 complete without touchscreen, I think it's an awsome deal for an 800 nitt screen!!!! i'm ordering one to play with...

They are sold on the site that turbocad linked, www.bisearch.com
They do sell touch screens but you would have to call to see if they have one for the panel you need.

that screen looks nice too, smaller than lilli & brighter too..... but the contrast ratio is real low at 100, even the one I showed was a little low at 200.....
it's rated at 500 nitts which is quite a bit better than the lilli, but not as bright as the 800 in my link..... this one has the advantage of better resolution & wide screen....
any idea on price & availability??
hmmmm....... decisions, decisions...... there both pretty cool screens!!!

Wher are you planning to fit it in the A3? I'm pretty sure some user(s) has a lilli/xenarc in an A3....

if these fit better there defanatley an upgrade from the lilli..... maybe twice as much $$$ but the brightness is no comparision, not to mention if it fits better it may be worth it...

I would love to play around with this:
5.8" 800x480 (670nit/250:1 contrast etc.)
Now THAT is a smaller VGA screen. Trouble is I can't find anyone to sell it to me...

At only 88.5 mm (3 1/2 inches) high, that thing would be mountable in so many cool ways.

Did you ever get hold of any of the Sharp LQ065Y5DG02 screen Matrix?
Do you know where to get one?
Got any spec?
I'd love to get one...
