Question PDA

I have a Compaq iPaq pda, and i was wondering how I could get it to control the mp3's on my computer. My computer has the sound running to the head unit and has windows98 on it, but I wanted to use my pda to be the control for it.

i have a Palm IIIC and i know that you can do it with mine. if you do a "search" here on the bbs there has been posts about pda controllers. i know the people who have done this use VNC for one of the programs, i cant remember any of the others though.

true u can use VNC or some of those PDA to pc things, but it is just too slow. I strongly recommend getting IRman/x10 for a much better control. And with IRman, you can then get one of those remote app and use that to control ur box

I don't know of a way to control the computer with the iPaq, but,

Here at work we're developing an application for the iPaq, (The maintenance guys are getting their work-orders on this thing, and they fill in a form, what they have done on a certain job.. They are permanently connected to the internet through the new gprs-system. This way they all have 'live'-data, and their worked is directly stored in the main-database which runs on a Citrix-server.. The IPaq uses the Compaq-IPac-Citrix client)

and I noticed, (In a presentation of this thing) that its processor (the strongest one in the pda's) is cappable of playing mp3's.
Mabye you could use the computer just for the file storage..

I don't know the bits about it, but it's just an idea..

The program that the PALM uses to control the music-computer is called PalmAmp

Hope this helps you out..
Greetz
