LCD flicker problem

I have a generic 8" touchscreen lcd (VM80 model from shortcircuit.com) and a Legacy DVD/CD/MP3 player combo that are causing me problems. I power my lcd off of a 7812 circuit or my computer 12V rail, it dosen't matter, the same problem happens. The problem is that I am picking up noise from the alternator and am getting a flicker that varies with engine rpm, only when the engine is running. I have tried the following combinations with the following results:

1. LCD 7812 powered + RCA output from DVD player - flicker
2. LCD computer supply powered + RCA output from DVD player - flicker
3. LCD wall supply powered + RCA output from DVD player - NO FLICKER
4. LCD 7812 powered + VGA ouput from computer - NO FLICKER
5. LCD 7812 powered + RCA output from nintendo plugged into extension cord- NO FLICKER

So I get flicker from the screen if it is plugged into and displaying the output of the DVD player and powered from the vehicle (7812 or computer power circuit) at the same time. I have tried grounding all of the cases etc etc. The RCA is not near power cables.

Any thoughts? Can I get a filter for the RCA input?

Thanks!

Justin

Well you bought it from a place called SHORT CIRCUIT what did you expect. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I haven't had these problems but I have seen info in the LCD FAQ's about isolating power to lcd from power to H/U.

If noone has a solution for you I would check there.
