Compaq 1700t Laptop LCD
I have a 1700t LCD from an old laptop sitting around and it would make a great extra monitor in my car. However from what I have heard this is no simple task and Laptop LCD’s can only be controlled with special VGA LCD controller cards specific to each model LCD. I have contacted ww.Earthlcd.com to see if they perhaps make something like this and I am awaiting reply.

Has anyone here had any experience with converting an old laptop screen to an additional monitor?

This guy sells the lowest price controller but he is located out of hong kong and you will have to send lcd model# if it is not on the list.
