Where to buy in-dash non-motorized housing
Anyone have any ideas on this? I'm looking for a non-motorized in-dash housing that will fit a xenarc display. Something like the TM-702L/701L, DWW-7VGA, or IH001. Ive looked on ebay and digitalww.com but neither seem to have them (in stock). From what I've read here I dont think that I will be doing business with mp3playerstore.com.
Does anyone have any ideas on what stores stock this?

Sell your monitor and get a pre-made in dash non-motorized, like this: http://www.digitalww.com/DWW-700H.htm

You still didn't read it right. The IH002 is motorized, he wants non (i.e. IH001).

My point is valid about the 700H though, nice screen & decent price from ebay guy.

I've been considering the 700H for my own project. The specs say it's a Panasonic screen, so does that make it comparable to the Xenarc screens which, if I understand correctly, are manuf by Panasonic?
Also, I like the swivel on the 700H since my windows aren't tinted. I think it will help to be able to direct the screen at me in bright daylight, but I'm wondering: how sturdy is that swivel? Is it really built well, and is the screen solid with the swivel or does it shake/move a lot?
If anyone wants to check out my own project, and feel free to provide feedback or suggestions, I'm keeping a log of it at http://blog.thedarksighed.com/acura_itx. It's still in the prelim stages after being pushed back once or twice. I've removed the console and some of the dashboard to do my measurements, etc, but still haven't settled on a screen or power supply (probably the M1-ATX).
[EDIT: Two other thing... does the 700H have a spring-loaded action, or is it fully manual where you have to manually extract the screen and tilt it?
Also, anyone here have experience with the DWW-7VGA which is also not motorized? The specs look very similar, and I'm wondering why there's a $100 diff between the two]

I'm also considering the 700H, but I'm holding off because I haven't seen any type of writeup on it other than it is "nice" and "will do the job". If you get it, please let us know how it is. I have the same exact questions as you do. Thanks!

I'm hoping that someone on these forums, since that model is being praised, will be able to speak directly to those points and provide some insight...

I think so, its certainly brighter & clearer than my Lilliput.

Yes, its pretty solid (Way better than the IH002), but swivel-able to wherever you want it. Watch the dash clearance if your DIN slot is recessed.

It springs out the first inch, then its all manual.

Yeah, that's one of the things I haven't been able to find yet, re that particular screen. I don't know how far it extends out from the body, so I don't quite know how much clearance it provides.
With the DWW-7VGA on the digitalww site, they have a diagram showing it provides 2.25" clearance, but nothing for the 700H. I'm pretty sure it'll clear the recessed dash, it's just that I might not get the full degree of side-side swivel, which is okay as long as I can tilt it a bit. Anything will help, most likely. Plus it's $100 less than the 7VGA, but I'm still not quite sure why.

Digitalww is the only place you can buy none-motorized indash.
Armen maybe slow in respond to email/phone/pm, but at least you know you get what you paid for.

Rubbish!
Search ebay for (stivaskam), you will pay less and get better service, in my experience!
