I must say, I don't recommend trying to extend the cables for a laptop LCD... I tried to extend the 32awg wires on my lifebook b and had NO success! They were too small to crimp, twist, or solder.. Single thread in an insulator!

If you have one that molex makes you are in great shape, but otherwize I wouldn't recommend it.. It may be possible with a pin and some cold solder epoxy, but even at that; It may not hold up very well to the vibration and such in the car.

I have controllers to work with your panel. No Composite at this time, just VGA/DVI input.
And, I won't make you buy 100pcs.

Hey man appreciate the heads up, excellant quote btw!

I'm actually just trying to use it with the lappy it came with! But I had no success extending the wires, though those wires you have look to be the ones i need! Can you get me one of the 14wire harnesses?

Here is a picture of the wire I could not extend, it goes from the motherboard to the rear of the lcd panel. The inverter wires are much larger, say 24awg, and can be extended "easily".

Man if you can get me what I need to use that screen I'll ship my girlfriend out as your sex slave (see picture b), lol... J/K

I actually bought an 8" ts to use with it already, but I would much prefer to use the stock 10 inch that came with the thing.

~if it helps this is a lifebook b 2562

Your G/F is cute, but my wife won't let me. Not after the last time I tried to bring home a "friend".............J/K

anyway, I can extend that cable with no problem, or I can send you a length of the cable you need, and you can solder it. The cable I use is specific for LVDS panel use, and is not cheap. I pay close to 5.00 per ft.
I use the Coleman Cold Heat soldering tool for these tiny wires. Works great.

here's a pic of one of my lvds cable prototypes.

You sure? These cables have some kind of green inside insulator and like a single thread conductor...

If you feel you can do it I'll ship the replacement cable I got (to replace the one I ruined) out to you monday morning, haha.

And we can work out non women related payment via paypal, lol.

Forgot the picture.
You don't want to extend the inverter output wires. Those are AC power, and should be kept as short as possible. Instead, extend the input wires.
You can also run the USB lines through the cable I use, that way you avoid a usb cable. Just terminate the one end to fit the touch controller, and the other end with a standard usb connector to plug into your laptop.

What is the make and model # of the lcd panel?
I want to verify that it is LVDS, and not TTL. Big difference. TTL can only go about 18" in length, whereas the LVDS can go upwards of 15ft without signal loss.
