Lightbulb Idea for Brighter Screen During the Day

Ok, some subaru's here in australia have a dash display which is ALWAYS ON.
Luminescence dash display i think its called..
its just a normal dash but it is lit up the same way a LCD screen is lit up, with the neon like tube and the inverter...

now the only reason why you can see this during the day (since this dash display is ALWAYS ON if the key is in) is because it has a tinted screen infront of the dials.. basically a tinted window,.... without this, the light is not visible in the day,.

now i have no idea if this will work, or make it worse, but what would be the effects of having a tint infront of the screen?
it should prevent reflections off the screen during the day at the least?..

what are your thoughts / experiences?...

also, is tint like that used on ur car window directional (ourside / inside)???

this has been tried with antiglare film, i've heard people mention that the new lilliputs have antiglare film on them. I dont think adding tint into the mix would help

well i have the new lilliput 629 one..
and it doesnt seem to have an effect if it has this "antiglare" because in the day all i can see is my hand on the gear knob, its like a mirror.

Aren't the gauges also in a sort of "hood" or "cap"? That helps them be visible.

I am trying to obtain Very high end touch screen with different suppliers.

you all could follow the evolution here.

I am also working on a backlight upgrade based on OSRAM Golden Dragon leds with photo-transistor which increase or decrease backlighting in fonction of quantity of ambiant light. When ther is direct sun light on the screen, the backlight will work to the mawimum of capabilities.
