Lilliput No VGA signal after resume, but moving USB fixes it?
This is wierd.
I've got a Lilliput 619. It's powered by a 12V on my M1-ATX. Recently, the screen has been acting up. I'll turn the car on everything is fine. I turn off the ignition, computer does suspend to ram, power supply keeps powering the RAM. I turn the car back on, PSU kicks on after 5 seconds, computer resumes from ram. LCD shows "No VGA Signal" and I never get a signal. The touch screen is active, I can hit the "play/pause" button in Centrafuse (if I get lucky and hit the right spot), just no VGA signal. Sometimes when this happens, I see a faint shadow of the "Jurassic Park" logo.
Once the LCD is in this "no VGA" state, further suspend/resumes don't fix it. I have to power the PC down completely and restart going thru BIOS boot again.
I had this exact problem earlier when I was using a BU-353 USB GPS, I sold that and replaced it with a serial BU-355 which "fixed" the problem until now. I have no other USB devices, only the LCD. I'm not sure why I'm seeing the problem again but I have a few theories, questions, etc.
- I recently recalibrated the touch screen config, could that be it?
- What's with the "Jurrasic Park" logo? I've never had that image on my screen, ever.
- This morning I might have "fixed" it again by switching the USB port the touch screen is plugged into, why would this help?
- Finally, I saw the other thread where they added a fan, and I don't think heat is my problem. It's Winter now and I saw the problem first thing in the morning, also I can "fix" it by rebooting (until the next suspend) and it may be that simply moving to a new USB port fixes it for good (at least today).

Bump and an update.
So, my "move the USB cable to a new port fixes it" idea is bunk. It's still busted, when I got back in my car to drive home from work, no VGA. Restarting (I hit the restart button in CentraFuse, I know where it is on the screen), fixes it, so it's not heat related. SOMETHING is going wrong, feels software related.
Help!?!?

Man, I wish I knew the answer, amigo... That's how many screens that have gone belly-up on you?
I'm wondering if this is one of those issues that fixing the internal ribbon cable positioning will help. I don't know, but it's certainly worth a shot...

Grrr. I do seem to break them all, don't I. It just feels so software related, a simple restart of the PC will fix it instantly.

I had this happened to me and it was caused by a fraying A/V and USB cable. You can order a new cable set from Lilliput for about 25 bux if I remember correctly. With the new cable, make sure that it doesn't rub against any bare metal or pinch anywhere to prevent repeated failure.

I think I fixed it (we'll see). It was the VIA CLE266 drivers. Here's my guess:
This is my guess:
The S3 video driver from VIA has multiple output (CRT, LCD, TV) capability. When resuming from standby, the CRT output didn't look like it had monitor attached, so the driver switched to the LCD output as default. Not sure why, maybe the signal was degraded or something. In any case, I upgraded the drivers from VIA and it still didn't fix it. So, I uninstalled everything and let WinXP use it's own driver. Seems to work fine now.

After several days of driving around, I had no problems. So, it looks like I can't use the VIA drivers, I need to use the ones from Microsft. At least I can use my carPC...
